GIULIANO BABINI

     30th July – 15th August 2021

From 30 July to 15 August the Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery in Ravenna hosts the solo exhibition by Giuliano Babini At the end of the dream, the second appointment after the one of April last dedicated to Marco De Luca of the eight scheduled between 2021 and 2022 reserved for the protagonists of the same contemporary mosaic generation of Ravenna school.
This exhibition, organized by Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery in collaboration with the Ghigi-Pagnani Archive Collection and curated by Luca Maggio with a critical text of the latter in the catalog, sees exhibited several mosaic sculptures of the Ravenna artist, all with an animal subject, even if they are hybrid forms, suspended between myth and a new fantastic zoology that places the fetish horn on the heads of each of the subjects treated , born - as the title explains - at the end of the dream, but before the sun rises and interrupts the dreamlike and surreal flow of the unconscious from which these forms came to life.
Suggestive, at times disturbing, Babini's animals do not, however, lose the taste of the game and reflect with their presence on the very nature of artistic doing, which has deep roots in the primordial times of the human and in the infinite spaces of metaphor.

    Alla fine del sogno
