The Exhibition

INCURSIONI is a project for the VI edition of the Rassegna Biennale di Mosaico Contemporaneo from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Ravenna.

On the occasion of the event, the new season opens at Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery, with the exhibition "The Cartoons for the mosaics of Dora Markus". 6 works will be on display: 6 preparatory cartoons for 6 mosaics, 6 international artists, all well known painters but very different in cultural background and sensitivity, who created the works on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Eugenio Montale, whose poem Dora Markus the show is titled. The idea of dedicating a project to Dora Markus, Montale's poem written for the ancient Porto Corsini, originated back in 1996, when - at the behest of the Proloco of Marina di Ravenna, the Capit of Ravenna and the Ravenna Cultural Relations Center - the president of Capit Pericle Stoppa gave birth to a highly suggestive project born on the occasion of the conference "Remembering Montale", and from whom arose the idea of dedicating a square to the poet. The ancient Piazza dei Mille was after named Piazza Dora Markus.

Six contemporary mosaics were then installed, they celebrated and still celebrate an important artistic event. The exhibition organized by Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery, the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna and the Capit, aims to focus on the permanent works of important contemporary artists (Bruno Ceccobelli, Giosetta Fioroni, Klaus Karl Mehrkens, Concetto Pozzati, Ruggero Savinio, Emilio Tadini) and available in Piazza Dora Markus.

Conference Wednesday 13th November at 17:00 hrs
Attending Bruno Ceccobelli (artist), Daniele Astrologo (historian), Alberto Giorgio Cassani (professor), Claudio Spadoni (art historian) and Pericle Stoppa (creator of the project).
